What Are Gun Marks?
They display your excellence in handling specific tanks.
Where can I find them?
They're always visible on your vehicle in the Garage and in battle, regardless of camouflage or attachments. Marks are also visible in the team lists on the Battle Loading screen—but only for allies, so opponents don't focus too much on you! They are also visible on the Battle Result screens and team side panels.
How to Get Gun Marks
- You can receive Gun Marks only if you have at least 5,000 battles in Statistics (Regular and Rating battles).
- They are awarded for excellence on the battlefield, measured by average Gun Mark XP over your last 50 battles with any given tank.
- Gun Mark XP is a battle effectiveness indicator: it counts only XP without multipliers, team damage bonus, and victory bonus. Your positive actions in battle all matter here: damage dealt, assistance, spotting, kills, base capture, etc.
- Only Random Battles are counted. Battles in other modes and platoon battles neither count toward nor interrupt your progress.
- Thresholds for Gun Marks: top 35% of players by average Gun Mark XP receive 1 Gun Mark; top 15% receive 2 Gun Marks; top 5% receive 3 Gun Marks. We collect and update average Gun Mark XP data daily, so your position can vary depending on general statistics.
- The system considers your last 50 battles. You may still receive a mark before 50 battles if your average Gun Mark XP equals the average other players earned over their last 50 battles.
It's even possible to get a Mark with XP earned over fewer than 50 battles if you show exceptional results.
Each tank can have up to three Gun Marks. Once received, a mark on a tank can never be downgraded or taken away.
For new tanks, they become available no earlier than 14 days after release.
Calculating Gun Mark XP
Gun Mark XP is your Combat XP, excluding multipliers, team damage bonus, survival bonus, and victory bonus (the third tab of battle results).
In a simplified form, the formula looks like this:
Total battle XP = (Combat XP + bonus XP for victory + team damage XP + survival XP) × XP multiplier of XP based on the battle result × XP multiplier for the first victory × Premium Account XP multiplier
Gun Mark XP corresponds to Combat XP in this formula.
All useful actions in battle count here:
- Spotting enemy vehicles.
- Dealing damage.
- Сritically damaging enemy modules.
- Fragging opponents.
- Assisting allies.
- Capturing bases in Encounter mode and scoring points in Supremacy mode.
- Actively participating in battle.
