How to add the game to antivirus exceptions
These instructions are valid for AVG Antivirus Free and AVG Internet Security. The screenshots have been made using AVG Antivirus Free.
- Launch AVG Antivirus. Click 'Menu' in the top right corner.
- Click 'Settings'.
- Click 'General' in the left panel, open the 'Exceptions' option, and click 'Browse'.
- Specify the path to the folder where the game is installed (e.g. D:\Games\World_of_Tanks) and click 'OK'.
- The game folder path will appear in the path list. Click 'OK' to close the settings window.
- The game folder has successfully been added to AVG Antivirus exceptions.
- If you're using AVG Internet Security, we recommend you add the WorldOfTanks.exe game client file to the firewall trusted zone (see below) to avoid connection issues.
How to enable Do Not Disturb mode
These instructions are valid for AVG Antivirus Free and AVG Internet Security. The screenshots have been made using AVG Antivirus Free.
- Click 'Menu' in the top right corner. Click 'Do Not Disturb Mode' in the resulting menu.
- Click the 'Add a new app' button.
- Now click 'Select App Path'.
- Specify the path to the WorldOfTanks.exe file, which can be found in the folder with the installed game (e.g. D:\Games\World_of_Tanks) and click 'Open'.
- World of Tanks will appear in the application list. Click the […] button and select 'Maximize performance'. The "Maximize performance" option allows the game to launch with high priority in full-screen mode or in high-performance mode in Windows.
- The "Maximize performance" option has been enabled for World of Tanks.
- If you're using AVG Internet Security, we also recommend you add the WorldOfTanks.exe game client file to the firewall trusted zone (see below) to avoid connection issues.
How to add the client to the firewall trusted zone
These instructions are valid for AVG Internet Security.
- Launch AVG Internet Security. Click 'Hacker Attacks' in the middle of the window.
- Go to 'Enhanced Firewall' and click 'Firewall options'. In the drop-down menu, click 'Applicaton rules'.
- The firewall rule menu will open. Click 'New group' and enter "Wargaming.net" as the group name.
- Now click 'New application rule' and select the Wargaming.net group you've created.
- Specify the path to the WorldOfTanks.exe file and click 'Open'.
- Select 'All' for 'Allow outbound access to the Internet on ports:" for World of Tanks.
- Now the game client files have been added to the AVG Internet Security trusted zone. Click 'Close' in the bottom right corner of the window to close settings.
- You have successfully configured AVG.
